PHILIPSBURG:--- The Sint Maarten Police Force (KPSM) has stepped up its enforcement efforts to address illegal parking, particularly in prohibited areas such as sidewalks and roadways near the police station in Philipsburg. This initiative is part of the police’s action plan to mitigate chaos and improve traffic flow during the busy holiday season in the Philipsburg area.
In recent days, officers from the Bike Patrol have begun issuing fines to motorists violating parking regulations in the areas of N. Debrot Street and Codville Webster Street. These measures aim to curb ongoing traffic disruptions caused by vehicles obstructing sidewalks and roadways.
Despite previous warnings and fines, some drivers persist in parking unlawfully, including on the sidewalk adjacent to the police station.
