Sint Maarten Police Force Intensifies Actions Against Illegal Parking in Philipsburg.

illegalparking20112024PHILIPSBURG:--- The Sint Maarten Police Force (KPSM) has stepped up its enforcement efforts to address illegal parking, particularly in prohibited areas such as sidewalks and roadways near the police station in Philipsburg. This initiative is part of the police’s action plan to mitigate chaos and improve traffic flow during the busy holiday season in the Philipsburg area.

In recent days, officers from the Bike Patrol have begun issuing fines to motorists violating parking regulations in the areas of N. Debrot Street and Codville Webster Street. These measures aim to curb ongoing traffic disruptions caused by vehicles obstructing sidewalks and roadways.

Despite previous warnings and fines, some drivers persist in parking unlawfully, including on the sidewalk adjacent to the police station.

The Sint Maarten Police Force is urging all motorists to park responsibly and avoid parking in prohibited areas. By doing so, drivers can help ensure smoother traffic flow and a safer environment for pedestrians and other road users.

KPSM reminds the public that these enforcement actions will be ongoing, especially during the holiday season when traffic in Philipsburg is at its peak. Cooperation from all road users is essential to maintain order and safety.

KPSM Press Release.
