PHILIPSBURG:--- The Gymnastics Department at the National Institutes of Arts (NIA) proudly launched its season with the highly anticipated "STARS" event, showcasing the skills, discipline, and artistry of 52 young gymnasts aged 3 to 13. This inspiring event marked the perfect start to a season dedicated to building confidence, character, and a love for movement in children.
The "STARS" event provided a platform for gymnasts to demonstrate their progress and perform routines in front of an enthusiastic audience. From tumbles and cartwheels to graceful floor exercises, each performance highlighted the incredible dedication and poise of the participants.
"Gymnastics is about much more than athletic achievement," said Stephanie Haseth, Gymnastics Program Director at NIA. "It's a celebration of character, perseverance, and creativity. Events like 'STARS' allow our young athletes to experience the joy of performance while building skills that will serve them for a lifetime."
The NIA gymnastics program, which welcomes children as young as three, emphasizes fostering healthy habits, self-confidence, and teamwork through sport. By combining expert coaching with a nurturing environment, the program encourages students to reach new heights—both physically and personally.
Parents and audience members were moved by the spirit and energy displayed during the event. "It’s inspiring to see kids so young already learning discipline and showing such confidence," said one parent. "The smiles on their faces say it all—they’re having fun while doing something truly challenging."
As the season unfolds, the Gymnastics Department aims to continue inspiring the next generation of gymnasts, nurturing their talents, and promoting a lifelong love for fitness and movement.
