On Wednesday, the 1st of January, central control room received a report about a woman who had gone hiking on the Sandy Cruz Hiking Trail on Saba. The woman had gone hiking with a group but became exhausted and could not continue. The police immediately took action and went onto the trail, looking for the woman to provide assistance. A short time later, they came across the woman with two other people. She was checked for injuries, but had none. But she was completely exhausted. The officers lifted the woman and walked back with her to the beginning of the trail. After about 100 meters, they came across firefighters and ambulance personnel who had a special chair with them on which the woman could be transported further. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance for a medical check-up.
