Launch of the "Connecting Our Seniors" Project: Digital Literacy Workshops for Seniors in Saint-Martin.

Saint-Martin:--- The ANIS Saint-Martin association, in partnership with EVS Nature is the Key and several local stakeholders, is pleased to announce the launch of the "Connecting Our Seniors" project, aimed at tackling the digital divide and helping seniors in Saint-Martin improve their digital skills and access essential online services.
As society becomes more digital, many older adults face significant challenges when it comes to accessing online services, completing administrative tasks, and staying connected with their community. This project offers a solution by providing seniors with the opportunity to learn basic digital skills that will help them navigate the internet, complete online forms, and communicate through digital platforms.
Digital Workshops to Bridge the Digital Divide
Seniors, especially those who are isolated or have limited digital skills, are often excluded from online services provided by government agencies and other organizations. The "Connecting Our Seniors" project is designed to:
• Help seniors become independent in their online administrative and social procedures,
• Improve their digital skills for safer and more confident online navigation,
• Foster social connections by bringing seniors together to learn collaboratively,
• Enable participants to stay connected with loved ones through digital communication tools such as messaging and video calls,
• Increase awareness of online services for retirement and health-related matters.
Dates and Locations of Workshops:
The workshops will begin on January 24, 2025, and will be held every Friday afternoon from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, excluding school holidays, in two locations on the island:
• Sandy Ground / Marigot (1st session from January to March)
• Orléans (2nd session from March to May)
Participants will follow a structured program consisting of 8 core digital literacy modules, followed by specialized sessions on using online services such as Assurance Retraite and the CGSS of Guadeloupe.

Target Audience: Vulnerable Seniors
The project primarily targets individuals aged 60 and over, with a focus on those facing difficulties in accessing and using digital tools. Priority will be given to seniors who are:
• Financially disadvantaged,
• Socially, geographically, or family isolated,
• Struggling with administrative tasks or online procedures,
• At risk of losing access to essential rights and services due to digital exclusion.
Supported by Key Partners
This initiative is supported by several key partners, including CGSS of Guadeloupe, Orange Digital Center, and the Collectivité of Saint-Martin, who are providing valuable resources to ensure the success of this program.
