The highly anticipated documentary Kombiná is set to premiere in St. Maarten and Saba this February, offering a captivating exploration of architecture’s impact across the Dutch Caribbean.
With stunning visuals and personal stories, Kombiná delves into the work of architect Lyongo Juliana and his 25-year journey redefining Caribbean architecture. Audiences will gain fresh insights into how architecture not only reflects the identity of the Caribbean but also addresses its unique challenges.
Saba Premiere – February 5, 2025
Kombiná will debut on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 7:00 PM in a small setting in Windwardside, Saba. Guests will explore the unique architectural challenges of the island, with footage from locations such as the Green Flash House, the Fire Station, and Saba Comprehensive School. Residents, clients, and users share candid insights about the functionality and sustainability of these designs. Highlights include an in-depth look at new school designs, sparking conversations about the future of education and sustainable architecture on the island.
Admission is free, and everyone on the island is welcome.
