PHILIPSBURG:--- On the morning of Saturday, January 18, 2025, at approximately 10:00 AM, the Sint Maarten Police Force (KPSM) received a call from the St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) concerning a male victim who had arrived at the medical facility with multiple gunshot wounds. Police personnel and detectives were dispatched to the SMMC to investigate the matter.
During their interaction with the victim, he claimed that he had been shot by a known male suspect and provided officers with a description of the individual in the area of Sucker-garden where this incident had taken place. Based on this information, a coordinated search operation was initiated to locate and apprehend the suspect.
At approximately 4:30 PM, officers successfully located and detained the suspect, identified by the initials F.A.L., a 22-year-old male. The arrest was executed without further incident, and the suspect was transported to the Philipsburg Police Station, where he is currently being held for further questioning. In addition, the firearm believed to have been used in the incident was confiscated and secured as evidence.
A forensic investigation was conducted at the location in the Sucker Garden area where the incident should have occurred. Evidence was collected at the scene to support the ongoing investigation.
