PHILIPSBURG:--- The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) wishes to formally inform the public of the outcomes of a series of operational controls executed by the Uniform Division (BPZ) from January 19th to January 26th, 2025.
During this period, officers conducted four (4) control operations at various strategic locations across the island. These operations issued fifty-two (52) fines for a range of traffic violations. Additionally, law enforcement personnel responded to and managed twenty-one (21) traffic accidents, several involving injuries.
As part of their enforcement efforts, the Uniform Division also apprehended sixteen (16) individuals for various offenses. These arrests underscore the commitment of the Police Force to ensuring public safety and maintaining order throughout the island.
The Police Force of Sint Maarten remains steadfast in combatting gun violence, addressing traffic violations, and enhancing overall safety for residents and visitors. The public is strongly encouraged to adhere to traffic regulations and to cooperate fully with law enforcement during these operations.
In addition, the Police Force is appealing to members of the public who may have information regarding the location or storage of firearms or individuals possessing firearms to contact the anonymous tip line at 9300. Public cooperation is essential in the ongoing mission to preserve a safe and secure community.
