Police calls on Cape Bay Community to hunt out killer.

~Eyewitnesses need to work with the police and not against them~

PHILIPSBURG: --- In reaction to an interview done by SMN News on Thursday with the relatives of the slain Guyanese man identified as Denzil Skeet, who was murdered early Sunday morning in the vicinity of his home.
The Police have said that while there was an incident in September 2024 and a complaint was filed, the police need the Cay Bay community to assist them in locating the four young men who brutalized the now-dead man.
These culprits are hiding in the Cape Bay area and are known by the people living there. “The police can only do so much, but the community has to help and work with the police for their safety. I fully understand that they are fearful, but under no circumstances would I be living next to a killer because I or my family could be the next victim.” Those were the statements of the police calling on the Cay Bay community to speak up. The police have an anonymous tip line “9300” that can be used for such tips.
Eyewitnesses who witnessed the senseless murder on Sunday, January 26th, 2025, can also provide statements to the police anonymously, the police explained. “We need to work as one to make this community safe again.”
The police also stated that it is against the law to harbor criminals, and those who harbor them can face the full extent of the law. “Whether these young men are your children or not you cannot harbor them by helping them to evade police, that could make you end up behind bars also.”
Besides that, police said that on Sunday morning there were several eyewitnesses to the early morning shooting that left the young father dead, however not one of the witnesses came forward and provided a statement to police. The residents of Cape Bay are fearful. However, they are harboring people who are terrorizing the community and have killed a young man. The police said that they are on top of the case; they go to Cape Bay daily, trying to locate the killers.

Persons with information on the wanted men are urged to cooperate with police.
