Simpson Bay:--- Aqua Mania Adventures invites animal lovers, advocates, and supporters to set sail for a cause with the third annual World Stray Animals Day Sunset Sail on Friday, April 4, 2025. This special event raises awareness and critical funding for St. Maarten’s stray animal population, benefiting local animal welfare organizations dedicated to rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption efforts.
Partnering with the Animal Welfare Foundation, SXM Paws, Animal Defenders, and Island Cat Rescue, Aqua Mania Adventures aims to make a significant impact on the lives of stray and abandoned animals across the island. Proceeds from ticket sales, raffle tickets, merchandise, and pet food donations will directly support these non-profit organizations, which rely heavily on private donations and volunteer efforts to provide food, shelter, medical care, and sterilization programs.
The event will commence at 3:30 PM with a pre-sale gathering, offering guests the opportunity to meet the dedicated organizations behind the cause, interact with adorable adoptable animals, and purchase merchandise to support their efforts. Guests are encouraged to bring pet food donations or contribute financially to provide essential supplies for animals in need. A raffle will also be held, featuring exciting prizes to further support the fundraising initiative.
At 5:15 PM, participants will embark on a breathtaking 90-minute Sunset Cruise along St. Maarten’s scenic coastline. The evening includes an open bar, delicious snacks, and spectacular views, all while making a tangible difference in the lives of the island’s stray animals. Adults pay $50 per person, Children aged 5 – 12 can join for $25, and those under 4 can attend for free.
Even if you cannot attend the sail, there are many ways to help:
• Donate pet food, supplies, or financial contributions to any of the participating organizations.
• Volunteer to assist with animal care, even as a visitor.
• Escort a pet to its new home when traveling off-island.
• Report strays and cases of neglect to local organizations.
• Sponsor a sterilization procedure to prevent further overpopulation.
• Pick up injured animals and bring them to a vet.
• Keep pet food and water in your car to help animals in need.
