Simpson Bay:--- Princess Juliana International Airport Operating Company N.V. (PJIAE) successfully hosted the fourth annual 2.3km Runway Run, bringing together more than 175 airport colleagues and community partners for a unique fitness experience on the airstrip.
This event, part of PJIAE’s internal health program, encourages employees and stakeholders to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. Participants included representatives from airlines, ground handling agents, and service providers, all coming together to promote teamwork and well-being.
Sandy Offringa, Chair Runway Run Committee kicked off the Runway Run with an inspiring message, welcoming all participants and thanking them for their enthusiasm:
"Today, as we come together for the Runway Run, we celebrate not only fitness but also teamwork and dedication. A healthy and active airport community allows us to perform at our best and continue delivering excellence. Let’s enjoy the run, support one another, and make this a great experience for all!"
The run commenced promptly at 5:30 AM, starting from the Maho side and extending all the way to the end of the runway at Simpson Bay, before the airport’s operational hours, ensuring a safe and smooth experience for all participants. Following the run, everyone was treated to a healthy breakfast, courtesy of PJIAE, as part of the post-event celebration.
A special thank you to our RFF and Operations Department for their support this morning, helping to make this event a great success.
