Government tightens Hurricane Pass Criteria for Upcoming Season.

PHILIPSBURG:--- With the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season approaching, Prime Minister Dr. Luc Mercelina shared updates on new measures to enhance emergency preparedness.

The government announced stricter guidelines for issuing hurricane passes, limiting them to individuals essential to emergency operations and post-storm recovery. “We must ensure that these passes are granted only to those who play a critical role in restoring order after a disaster,” the Prime Minister said.

Additionally, a meeting with Emergency Support Functions (ESFs) was scheduled to review readiness strategies. The session focuses on strengthening coordination among emergency groups to safeguard public welfare during the season.

These measures highlight the government’s focus on maintaining safety and order in the aftermath of potential storms.
