PHILIPSBURG:--- On the observance of Justice Day, Nation Opportunity Wealth (NOW) Member of Parliament (MP) Lyndon Lewis, Vice Chair of the Justice Committee in Parliament, extends his sincere appreciation and gratitude to the dedicated men and women who serve throughout the Ministry of Justice.
“As the former Minister of Justice and, by extension, a law enforcement professional, I hereby take this opportunity to recognize the countless individuals whose unwavering commitment, professionalism, and sacrifice help maintain law, order, and public safety in our country on this special day. Their dedication, often carried out behind the scenes and under challenging circumstances, forms the backbone of our justice system.” MP Lewis stated.
MP Lewis offered special recognition to the two women leading the Ministry of Justice being, the Minister of Justice, Nathalie Tackling and the Secretary General of Justice, Ms. Florence Marlin for their leadership and dedicated service to the men and women attached to the various justice department. While also acknowledging the invaluable contributions of the Ministry's Department Heads and every justice worker who faithfully serves the people of Sint Maarten.
He paid tribute to the members of the Police Force of Sint Maarten, Customs, Immigration, Coast Guard, Prison and House of Detention, National Detectives, the Staff Bureau, administrative personnel, Court of Guardian, Court House, Prosecutors office, Financial Intelligent Unit, and all other professionals such as the Voluntary Corps, Victim Support Services, Turning Point foundation and Judicial and Institutional Services who facilitates within the justice chain.
"Every member of the justice family plays a vital role in protecting our nation and upholding the rule of law," MP Lewis stated. "Without your dedication, commitment, and sacrifices, there can be no justice. Your service often goes unseen, but it is deeply valued and appreciated."
As Vice Chair of the Justice Committee in Parliament, MP Lewis reaffirms his commitment to advocating for a stronger justice sector by supporting revenue-generating initiatives that improve resources, working conditions, and opportunities for the hardworking professionals who serve the country.
MP Lewis thanks every justice worker, both past and present, for their invaluable contributions to beautiful Sint Maarten.
