Philipsburg:--- The executive council has decided to put a hold on the building permit for the Dutch Quarter Gas Station requested by island councilman Roy Marlin. SMN News has been reliably informed that the executive council needs more clarity on the planning and other permits before they take a decision. The building permit was discussed on Tuesday at the weekly executive council meeting. The source said it seems as if the commissioner responsible for Public Works was in favor of granting the permit without the necessary research but somehow his other colleagues in the executive council felt that not all the necessary information regarding the planning and hindrance permits were provided.
