Attempted robbery on a jewelry store.

armedrobbery09102026SIMPSON BAY:--- The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) is currently investigating an attempted robbery at a jewelry store in the Maho area that occurred on the evening of October 8th, 2026.

At approximately 8:50 p.m. (20:50 hours), Police Central Dispatch received several calls reporting an attempted robbery at a jewelry store in Maho.

Based on video footage circulating on social media, three male suspects, all dressed in dark clothing, were seen making several attempts to forcefully break the glass door at the main entrance of the jewelry store. Despite their repeated efforts, the suspects were unsuccessful in gaining entry to the establishment.

After the failed attempt, all three suspects entered a getaway vehicle parked directly in front of the jewelry store. They then fled the scene, heading toward Lowlands and the French side of the island.

Uniformed patrol officers and detectives were immediately dispatched to assess the situation and begin an initial investigation. Personnel from the Forensic Department later assisted, processing the crime scene and collecting evidence relevant to the investigation.

The investigation into this incident remains ongoing.

KPSM is appealing to members of the public who were in the area at the time of the incident and may have witnessed suspicious activity, observed the suspects or their getaway vehicle, or have information that could assist investigators to come forward.
