MARIGOT:--- A public consultation on Saint-Martin’s future flag attracted 13,610 votes, with the selection process now moving toward jury discussions and administrative preparations ahead of the flag’s scheduled official installation on December 7, 2026.
In an October 29 press release, the Collectivité de Saint-Martin announced that voting had closed following the consultation held from October 14 through October 21 at www.mysaintmartinflag.com.
The Collectivité described the participation as a demonstration of residents’ attachment to the territory’s future emblem. It thanked those who voted, shared information, and encouraged others to participate, as well as schools, associations, district councils, institutions, and media organizations that promoted the consultation.
Under the competition rules, public votes will be converted into points out of 20 and added to the finalists’ scores. The jury will then meet with the three highest-scoring finalists to discuss the results.
The process will subsequently enter its final administrative stage, including steps to protect the flag and complete the necessary documentation.
The announcement did not identify a winning design or provide a breakdown of votes received by the individual finalists.
The project calendar lists December 7, 2026, as the date for the flag’s official installation. The Collectivité said it will share further announcements through the project’s official channels, including @MySaintMartinFlag.
