Attempted Armed Robbery on Two French Tourists.

Philipsburg:--- On Monday April 2, 2012 at approximately 8:00pm, two French visitors with initials S.S.R. and B.A.B. were attacked by three young men who were dressed completely in dark clothing with their face partially covered. During the attack, which took place on the Boardwalk in the vicinity of Sea Palace Hotel one of the suspects used a sharp object, possibly a knife, to cut the strap of female victim's shoulder bag. At the same time, the male victim was stabbed in the chest with a pointed object. The suspects however did not succeed in stealing the bag from the female victim. After their attempt, the suspects fled the scene. The male victim was taken to the medical center for treatment. His wound turned out not to be life threatening. This case is under investigation by the Special Robbery Unit.
