Marigot:--- Union for Democracy declared in a press release that "we have just witnessed in recent days both a hoax and a denial of the truth so grave that we can no longer handle the plagiarism of the President's speech as a mere blip due to the urgency of the situation." They also added "especially when it puts us in such a difficult situation with political authorities of a foreign state."
The false explanations of the Cabinet Director of the President, through an official statement, have shocked the entire political arena and the people of St. Martin. The UD demands "the resignation of the cabinet director and wishes that the President be transparent on the conditions of this bogus service contract, including the amount paid."
"The sooner these decisions are made, the sooner we can all move on to actually take care of the real problems of St. Martin."
UD concluded "We regret that this act have tarnished somehow the overall image of St. Martin and its elected officials and we are appealing to the sense of responsibility and honor of the President in order to demonstrate transparency and courage. It is only then that the people of St. Martin can trust him to govern them."
