UP Ship Seems to be Sinking as DP and Independent MP Work Closely --- Rift in the Presidium.

Philipsburg:--- Reliable information reaching SMN News indicates that the United Peoples Party and Democratic Party coalition government seems be on the rocks, while Independent Member of Parliament Patrick Illidge is working closely with the Democratic Party Members of Parliament instead of the United Peoples Party with whom he signed an agreement to support their government. Indications in Parliament shows that the members of the presidium are fed up with the chairlady of Parliament and this is the reason they abandoned the UP fraction in Parliament on Thursday when Arrindell was placed on trial during a Central Committee meeting regarding her Washington DC trip. Sources close to the Presidium Members said that the other two members of the Presidium are tired of covering up for the chairlady of Parliament Gracita Arrindell.
The members of Democratic Party Roy Marlin and Petrus Leroy De Weever along with Independent Member of Parliament Patrick Illidge consciously chose to stay away from the meeting to pave Union Farm roads, a job that the Minister of Infrastructure Theodore Heyliger is supposed to execute. The move taken by the three Members of Parliament is a clear indication that things are not well in the coalition camp and while the leader of the UP Party Theodore Heyliger made Member of Parliament Petrus Leroy De Weever the scapegoat for not fixing the Union Farm in-roads during the elections. De Weever and two of his colleagues in Parliament sought assistance from the business community and began fixing the deplorable roads in the vicinity of the 911 emergency homes in Union Farm. The move by the three Members of Parliament will now force Heyliger to execute the promise he made to the residents of the 911 emergency homes during the elections.
On Wednesday last week UP fraction leader Romain Laville called on his party leader Minister of VROMI Theodore Heyliger to fix the roads in Union Farm because he was contacted by some residents in the area that are complaining about the deplorable conditions of the roads in their area.
While the Union Farm residents are badly in need of proper roads, the move by the three Members of Parliament seems to indicate that Parliamentarians have to take the bull by its horns and do the work of government. Also quite visible on Thursday was the intentional absence of the United Peoples Party faction leader Romain Laville while the chairlady of Parliament Gracita Arrindell was taken through the mill for her overspending and refusal to follow proper procedures to travel on business trips.
During the 2012 budget meeting, the DP faction teamed up with Patrick Illidge to table some three motions which were not co-signed by the UP faction. Several requests for Parliamentary meetings are also submitted by the same three Members of Parliament forcing the UP fraction members to tag along to get along. The current trend in Parliament and the indication given by some of the Members of Parliament is reason for concern about the stability of government.
