The crisis that touches St Martin did not disappear, by enchantment, last Sunday evening. Every day about twenty unemployed persons are added to the painful list we know of. The new president and his group made the commitment in front of all the Saint-martiners to reduce unemployment and to tackle it immediately. UD will not hesitate to give its support to the government of the Collectivity when real solutions are put on the table to fight against this plague. We are asking the RRR, to begin it's mandate, in the first days, with the following commitments we consider essential:
- Launch the call for bids on the Sea front project
- Launch the agreement on the cruiseship terminal for the Port of Galisbay
- Set up elements for the creation of the 2000 jobs promised with the free-zone
- Repatriate the center of decision of the SEMSAMAR on St Martin and to settle the question of the legitimacy of some of its subsidiaries;
- Make public the audit on SEMSAMAR.
- Settle definitively the financial dispute with the French State.
We also wish, concluded Daniel Gibbs, that this administration will act fairly and in a bi-partisan manner with persons who did not support them. This is a Democracy requirement. We also hope that non-elected persons do not have decision making powers which are prerogatives held by the elected representatives of RRR.
