Sucker Garden Killing May be a Crime of Passion. (UPDATED)

Sucker Garden:--- Police arrested a national of Jamaica identified as O.A.K., 31 years old on Saturday evening when he surrendered to Police after stabbing one of his compatriots to death on Saturday afternoon. SMN News learnt that Saturday's killing might be a crime of passion since it appears as though a woman was the cause of the fight and ultimate stabbing. Dead is Washington Ellis (52) of Jamaica. The victim died at the St. Maarten Medical Center from the serious chest injuries he sustained.

According to reliable information reaching SMN News, the suspect was arrested shortly after police was notified that the victim died of the severe stab wounds he received in his chest. SMN News learnt that the fatal stabbing took place in the alley opposite Carolina Bar, behind the Sucker Garden Baptist Church. Sources close to the investigation say the victim was transported in critical condition to the St. Maarten Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
Eyewitnesses to the stabbing said the suspect and the victim were engaged in a fight when he was fatally stabbed.

Chief Prosecutor Hans Mos said O.A.K. surrendered to police Saturday evening and he was immediately arrested. When asked if the killing can be considered a crime of passion Mos said there are indications of a certain relationship but he could not confirm or deny if the case is in fact a crime of passion.
