Philipsburg:--- The conclusion of GIFTED Inter-church basketball competition was nothing short of high energy and intensity. The much anticipated rematch between the Seventh Day Adventist church (SDA) and Christian Faith Ministries (CFM) resulted in a reverse outcome as SDA defeated CFM 27-25. It was like de-ja-vu for SDA defending a 2 point lead with seconds remaining.
SDA was given 30 minutes rest to recover and be prepared for the finals against the undefeated New Testament Church of God (COG). SDA started off with a commanding performance; ending the first half with an 8 point lead. COG came relentlessly in the second half with a well-organized defense which led to multiple fast break points decreasing the lead rapidly. Despite having COG over the limit with fouls in both halves, SDA failed to capitalize on the numerous free throw attempts. This proved to be very costly as COG defeated SDA by four points 35-31.
GIFTED Foundation congratulates COG on a flawless performance being undefeated throughout the tournament.
