National Archive Ordinance Approved by Council of Ministers.

PM mentions Document Management training for civil servants to start soon.

The National Archive Ordinance for country St. Maarten has been approved by the council of ministers and will be sent to parliament. This ordinance is extremely important in terms of keeping archives. It is based on that ordinance that while Ministries are responsible for their dynamic archives before they go to the national static archive this ordinance gives an indication or guideline as to what the process Ministers must adhere to in terms of keeping archives for which they are responsible. That law is going through the necessary steps after the approval by the Council of Ministers.
The Prime Minister also stated that the Council of Minister has also approved training for Document Management and persons involved with archiving, documentation and registration from the different ministries will be part of this training which will last several months and will conclude with a certificate for those which are taking part. This is necessary as we continue to prepare our central registry but also other Ministries as well.
