Philipsburg:--- Local churches participate in GIFTED Inter-church basketball competition that got started on Saturday, August 4, 2012. All four games of the night were played with a high level intensity as each game had a pulsating and nail-biting finale. Each game finished with no more than a 3 point lead and one game going into over-time.The first game of the evening Christian Assembly Ministry (CAM) defeated the New Testament Baptist Church (NTBC). Afterwards, Church of God (COG) came out victors over Praise Tabernacle, making a 3 point buzzer shot to win the game 40-37. The Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) went into over-time against Christian Faith Ministries (CFM) with the scores locked 19-19. CFM came out winners with a buzzer 3 point shot to win 22-21 at the end to the shock of the crowd and players on each team. The final game for the night was won by COG over CAM after being 8 points behind with under a minute left on the clock. The game finished 39-38.
GIFTED Inter-church basketball tournament resumes on Saturday, August 18; where the finals will be played at Melford Hazel Sports Complex.
