The St. Maarten Nature Foundation was alerted to the presence of dying fish in the Rolandus Canal recently. Upon arrival it was noticed that a large number of fish were in very shallow water closet where Works were being conducted on the Rolandus Canal. It was soon determined that the fish were dying due to a lack of oxygen in the area. Windward Roads assisted with transporting all of the fish safely to a more suitable location. In the picture, a worker from Windward Roads is removing smaller fish with a bucket to transport to a safer location.
