Rotaract Sunrise extends gratitude to Boardwalk Fest Organizers.

rotaractclubmembershipdrive06082012Philipsburg:--- The Rotaract Club of St. Maarten Sunrise held a membership drive and cake sale at the Boardwalk Fest on August 3rd 2012. The members of the club were in the crowd distributing brochures and flyers containing information about Rotaract. The members also allowed persons interested in joining Rotaract fill out contact forms to keep in contact with them. President of the Rotaract Club, Elisia Lake informed the crowd in brief that August month is set aside for membership and Rotaract awareness and what better place to start off the membership drive then at the Boardwalk. Lake also mentioned that the world needs more volunteers in making it better place and concluded that the Rotaract Club is an organization that caters their time to giving back to the community and putting service above self which every young person should do.

On behalf of the Rotaract Club, Lake presented the Boardwalk Fest organizers with a Distinguish Service Citation Certificate and thanked them for allowing the Club to conduct their membership drive and cake sale at the event. Before accepting the certificate, Clifton Brown President of the St. Maarten Cultural Music and Entertainment Development Foundation, mentioned that because his organization consists of young professionals he can connect with the Rotaract club in terms of giving back to the island in any way possible and only saw it fitting to allow the Rotaract Club to be a part of the event. Brown also mentioned that any time the Rotaract Club needs assistance they are willing to give a helping hand.

The Rotaract Club of St. Maarten Sunrise would like to take this opportunity to publicly extend sincere gratitude to Clifton Brown and the members of the Boardwalk Fest organization, Carl N Sons Bakery for donating a cake, Walton Holiday for providing a tent and Anniek Arrindell for providing the tables and chairs. The club also extends thanks to all persons that came out to the Boardwalk Fest to learn more about the Rotaract Club and supported the club in purchasing cake and other goodies.

The Rotaract Club will be continuing their membership drive and awareness throughout the month of August and encourages young persons between the age of 18-30 to become a member of the organization and give back to your community The Rotaract Club of St. Maarten Sunrise meets every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month at 7pm at the Holland House Conference Room. The club's next general meeting is scheduled for Saturday August 11th 2012 and young persons are invited to attend.
